Fish Tanks

Fish tanks is a 1v1 split-screen game where the objective is to infiltrate the enemy base and steal their flag, or fish in this case, and bring it back to your base. You each control a vehicle with a controller and start in your own base. Make use of the automated defense turrets and destroy-able buildings to outmaneuver your opponent and take victory.

This was our first course where we had actual 3D and texture artists which was new to us and while it brought some challenges it gave us a much more graphically pleasing product in the end.

The course was 8 weeks long at 100% pace with 6 members, 4 programmers and 2 Technical Artists. The project was to create a game with some restraints, mainly no multiplayer and no skeleton animations, during these 8 weeks. We chose to create a tank battle game with physic simulated vehicles and objects. This course was the first course where we had full freedom over the project and how we would work, and during the time we worked on it we gained insight in how a game is made from scratch, how hard it can be to estimate time for a task and obviously how crunch-time works.
